Or better, could I just have her arms? My gosh, Cameron, you are a goddess.
And look at these two. I will confess that if I find a man like Josh, both in looks and in I-exercise-with-my-wife, I might actually take the marriage option seriously.
How are you guys doing?
I was supposed to run 20 KM today but I didn’t because it was too cold. I am not too nervous because I still have a month till the half marathon and I think I will get in 2 of these long runs, one next weekend and one in the middle of March. I already did 12 and 15 and pace is looking okay (thought would like it to be better) so I am not overly nervous.
So what DID I do?
Well, I was still so sore on Friday morning (this week’s Sweat and the City workouts were just getting tougher and tougher every day!) so I decided to head to the gym but do very light cardio. So I just hopped on the treadmill and did some awesome hills (alternating 3% and 6% incline), HIIT on the bikes (1 minute level 4, 30 seconds level 7) for about 15 minutes and then cooled down.
I came home to find this:
Seriously. HOW can I ever achieve my dream of 6 pack abs? The familia is trying to sabotage all my attempts, all the time!
With the weather being nasty and all, I didn’t really want to get out of the house. But there was a huge grocery list which was piling up in items ALL WEEK LONG and someone had to be in charge. So I went and spent a lot of money and the supermarket, came home and thought “well, might as well head to the gym.” But then I had a vision of myself performing one of Zuzka’s workouts, called the 600 Reps Workout, and I decided to stay at home.
Oh this was a lovely workout. The kind that makes your heart rate sky high and make you feel like you are using every single muscle in your body. Here is the video from BodyRock.Tv:
I finished in just under 25 minutes but my form was not as hard core as Zuzka’s especially not with the abs and leg extensions and with the push ups (did them on one knee).
I was dripping drip drip drip at the end.
Okay, I am not going to get ready because we are going out to the Hilton’s bar tonight.
In the meantime I wanna share two links I found this afternoon:
Cook To Bang – I know Valentines Day is over but I still think this could come in handy
Scanwiches – wow. People’s ideas do not cease to surprise me
Jolly Thursday Hots and Fits!
I started the day extremely well! Despite a rather restless sleep I got up at 5:20 and decided to run outside.
For me, if I know in my head that it is cold but still wanna make it out and not let the winter scare me off, I open the window, stick my hand out, and prove to myself its not that cold (considering the fact that I sleep with a tanktop). I think it works because I am very warm when I wake up (now, wearing a long sleeve shirt and typing this, I am freezing!).
It wasn’t that bad but I only did 2 KM because my foot hurt. My other foot, that is. Weird. Something isn’t making sense. I will try again tomorrow.
Came back home and had a date with this guy (while being imitated by a bunch of other people):
I did the last 20 minutes of Pure Cardio, only skipping the 8 push ups + running session because I was going to end up late to work.
After all the “get ready hassle” (which lasts 20 minutes) I sat down to a bowl of this.
I also had a cup of coffee in my favourite cup:
Wuthering Heights is my favourite book. I heard Heathcliff.
I other interesting news, I came upon an article claiming that according to research, the pressure our knees and ankle joints absorb when running with sneakers is greater than if we were to run barefoot!
The research, conducted by a team of scientists from the University of Colorado in Virginia (huh??) studied the pressure on the hip, knee and ankle by gathering 68 volunteers, 37 of whom were women, all healthy, broad age range, and with no significant history of muscle injuries.
They ran at least 24 miles a week, either outside or on the treadmill. They also made them walk in high heels around a shopping mall for a while.
Surprisingly, they found that running shoes provided the highest pressure levels on the joints!
Threre are individuals that are criticizing this research, claiming that the sample group was too small. All I have to say is that I wish I could run barefoot.
I actually did once (shhhhh ….its a secret). I was on holiday in some remote village with my family and I felt like going for a run, but did not have my shoes. It was right after I graduated from high school and done with the track, thinking I would never wanna lace up those shoes! Anyhow, I did it. It felt great. But it is dangerous. Just thinking about all the crap that could be on the road made me constantly look down.
Ight Hots and Fits, my little sis just came back from vacay today so I’m going to hang out with her. I will see you all tomorrow!!
Its Friday in 3 hours! Well, at least for me 😛
Ahhh, the Winter Blues.
Despite the fact that I am currently involved in The Hot and Fit movement, I am affected by this crappy weather. As I previously stated, I was born to live in warm climates (the country I was born in averages 35C during the summer, 15C during the winter. Oh, and the beach is 5 KM away from my house).
If you are like me, you probably notice some changes when winter comes. Carbohydrates are calling your name. Its like the cake is screaming “EAT ME!!”. I think females have more of a thing for anything which involves some sort of dough. As in pastries. At least I do.
So why does this happen?
- Because the cold creates a need for our body. Need – for – heat. Eating, especially warm foods, is one way to do so.
- Because of the tendency to shut ourselves in the house and curl up on the couch. preferably with blankets. A natural consequence is usually a decline in physical activity (might as well be a couch potato), following seasonal depression, sending us to grab some food
- Because of short daylight hours. Argh, this is almost as bad as the cold. Much more depressing though. Research shows that the number of light hours we have in a day may affect our metabolic response and our desire to consume a diet rich in fat and sucrose.
So what do we do?
- Eat your summer foods, only in winter style: i.e. HEAT THEM UP! Instead of fruits and vegetables in cold salads, ate steamed vegetables and baked fruit. Instead of eating cold sandwiches try making it into a healthy toast.
- Drink water. Something I definitely need to work on
- The obvious: Eat foods that contain complex carbohydrates. This is probably the most important thing I have learned.
I do wish I could be hanging out in St. Barts like this girl:
Gwen Stefani for you. Another celebrity The Hot and Fit appreciates for her music as well as for her diet talk.
In 2007 she told Harper’s Bazaar:
“I hate talking about it, but it’s true. I’ve always been on a diet, ever since I was in the sixth grade. It’s an ongoing battle and it’s a nightmare. But I like clothes too much, and I always wanted to wear the outfits I would make. And I’m very vain.”
Spoken like a true Hot and Fit!
Happy Hump Day, Hots and Fits! We open Wednesday with a Fergielicious post!
For Marie Claire’s August issue, Fergie talks about losing the 17 pounds she put on for her role as Saraghina.
For those who are wondering, here are the IMDB details and the movie shall premier in November!
On how she lost the weight:
“I’ve been busting my ass, training. Being around the guys, they’re like a fraternity—I know what they look at. I don’t want to have a song like ‘My Humps’ and it be sagging down, so I pay attention to that area. A lot.”
The Hot and Fit highly recommends that you head over here to see how her gorgeous husband Josh Duhamel came out on Men’s Health!
OMG! Have ya’ll caught your breath? Cause vanity just reached a new low!
Khloe Kardashian lost 20 pounds! Wow! Why does the fame whore run to the press? I mean, if she was some movie star who was doing this for professional roles, as in, getting into character, we’ll understand.
Isn’t she just the sister of-? well, its not like the sister is any better.
Whatever, lets cut to the juice.
So the 25 year old chatted up US Magazine at the Three-O Vodka Bubble launch party in NYC on Thursday and said:
"I try to do just 30 minutes of cardio, mandatory. Obviously if I have more time, I want to do weights, but really that cardio is what works for me because I’m bigger. Cardio is what leans me out, and it still works your muscle definition too. Any kind of cardio."
She also gets bored often…yea, we figure not everybody is as addicted to running as we are…
"I do different kinds everyday because I get really bored. I do boxing, I go on hikes, I do stairs, I’m always switching it up."
On her eats and drink:
"I eat whatever I want until noon. Then from noon on, I watch what I eat. I only drink champagne. 100 calories in a glass, and I’m good."
You should also know Khloe is launching a diet product called Quick Trim with Kim, and that she finds working out to be hard work, but its totally worth it.
The Hot and Fit says:
- Again, why is she famous?
- We love the outlook on cardio. We already said we are cardio whores here at The Hot and Fit
- Aahhh the whole eat what you want till noon attitude is such bullshit. She better dump it or those cardio sessions will be putting on weight rather than making it disappear. EAT CLEAN AND RAW! That’s the only way to go
- Quick Trim – Kardashian style Slim Fast? thanks, but no thanks.

As promised, following our post on Megan Fox’s Transformers Workout Plan, we now give you her diet.
Again, The Hot and Fit KNOWS that all claims from celebs and/or their kick-ass trainers should be considered carefully and not be fully believed. Why? Cause they would never tell us what they REALLY do eat or how hard they really train.
And you know what? We don’t believe the Jessica Alba style bullshit that she eats what she wants and is “naturally thin”!
Ight enough bitching, back to Megan now
Megan eats whole food sources instead of processed foods and avoids grains. This is similar to what many people call the "Paleo Diet". Which is similar to eating like our ancestors.
- Avoid Grains: Hunters and Gatherers ate fruits and vegetables as their carbohydrates. The human body was meant to eat fruits and vegetables, not grains.
- Lot’s of Natural Sources of Protein: Things like nuts, eggs, and meat is a great source of protein.
- Fats Are Good For You: Yes, you heard it right. Megan Fox’s diet had a good amount of fat. She ate an ounce of almonds and a few eggs ever day while preparing for her role in Transformers.
We also learned that she used some sort of cleansing vinegar diet, because her diet plan is occasionally erratic and she is an irregular exerciser:
“It’s just water and raw apple cider vinegar, and it just cleans out your system entirely,” 22 year old Megan Fox explains. “It will get rid of, for women who retain water weight, from your menstrual cycle and all that, it gets rid of it really fast.”
“I’m not one for dieting or exercising, ‘cause I’m lazy and I have a really big sweet tooth, so I have to do cleanses every once in a while ‘cause of the amount of sugar I take in.”
the hot and fit says:
- Megan is in her early 20s. Which means that right now she can screw around (and trust, us we have done that) with her diet and exercise, but later on in her life she won’t be able to
- that said, us at The Hot and Fit do not believe in extreme diets. It is a change in lifestyle requiring consistency
- Avoid grains? Thanks, but not thanks. We like REAL carbs
- The whole cleanse thing sounds weird but we know it is so popular. If we give it a shot we will let you know what we think
don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!
US Magazine reports that when the director of Nine asked Fergie and Penelope Cruz to add some weight to their frame, they obliged.
Here is what Fergie recently told Allure Magazine for their July issue (don’t forget to scroll down for the pictures!)
On their eats:
"We were eating our brains out. We ordered everything fried and full of fat and salty”
On why and how she got back into shape:
Fergie says she lamented about not being able to fit into her skinny jeans, and the constant pregnancy rumors thanks to her new curves.
"If I don’t do sit-ups, my stomach sticks out," Fergie explains. "Legs are easy for me. That’s my lucky spot."
She hired husband Josh Duhamel‘s trainer to run her through two-hour sessions several times a week. Together they lifted weights, went hiking outdoors and used the jump rope for extra cardio.
